Christmas is always a busy time for me, knitknitknitwrapknitwrapknit seems to be the way of things, well into January as I never finish on time.
Straight after Christmas there are two important birthdays, then there is a lull where I have no knitting targets and a little creativity seeps back into my brain.
In the hopes of being ready for a craft fair at the end of the year, a little test to see how my designs fair in the real world, I've started planning now in readiness for starting knitting in April.
So I can be clearer in my mind by April, I'm currently I'm finishing off some WIPs. Some long, long overdue WIPS.
There is a lace handbag I started for someone it won't suit, about 5 years ago, the bowl I want to felt but need to finish first, a baby hat that I can't remember who it was for or which pattern it was... You get the picture.
I think a little frogging is in order on the weekend.
I do have a lovely shawl on the go, very simple garter and stockinette in James Brett Monsoon Aran yarn that looks like Noro Kureyon, but is so much softer and easier to knit with and much more accessible for those of us on a budget, due to it being 70/30 acrylic/wool. Fantastic bright colourways caught my eye on a little market stall and I think I'll be going back there for more!
I spy some fancy pillow cases on the horizon, as well as a messenger style bag for the more discernible teen!
In the next few weeks I hope to get a couple of designs on paper, out of my head, then on here for your perusal.

A Primrose by any other name
I chose the name Primrose & Blue after much deliberation and some input from my lovely friends.
Born and raised in Warrington, Cheshire, the colours are close to my heart as they are the town's official colours. The rugby team sport the colours, and whilst I know very little about rugby I wanted to adopt something from my hometown so I've borrowed them. I do hope the Wolves don't mind :)
Living so far away its nice to have this little reminder, so watch this space for my new background image, coming soon!

Welcome to Primrose & Blue YarnArts
Welcome to my blog!
Primrose & Blue is where I'll be sharing the contents of the Yarn portion of my brain.
About Me
I knit, I design my own patterns that currently reside in my head or on my needles, the finished products are usually given away as gifts and never thought of again. I thought it was about time I started writing some of these designs down.
I have limited crochet skills that I would love to improve upon, I'm getting there slowly with a lot of help from my friends.

I spin a little, not a lot, and not very well. When I have a little more time I'd love to get into this a lot more!
I've recently become reacquainted
with my sewing machine which has given my love of bags a renewed sense of purpose. You never know, I might even make one, one day soon!
I am a member of Valleys Artisans, "group of artful people" (borrowed from their Ravelry page) who meet in Pontypridd every week to knit, crochet, fondle yarn, gossip and generally have a good time.
I'm an avid Ravelry stalker, I love to see other peoples patterns and colours and yarns and Ooh I wish I could just reach out and grab the yarn!!! ;)
In my real life I am an aspiring photographer, and I have a real job too. Real job is not fun and hopefully one day soon I won't have to do it anymore.
About Primrose & Blue
Primrose & Blue is a business in the making. I expect it to be a long time before any money is made, and that isn't really my aim. My aim is merely to fund my habit, and if I can do that by knitting a pair of socks for someone else or selling a uniquely designed baby blanket then I'll be having fun as I do it.
Long term plans include an Etsy shop, but I'm in no hurry.
So here we go on a new adventure, I look forward to journeying with you through the wonderfull world of wooly goodness!
Jen
